The Zambia Development Agency is a statutory body established by the ZDA Act No. 17 of 2022 and mandated by the Investment, Trade, and Business Development Act No. 18 of 2022 to foster economic growth and development in Zambia. The Agency promotes trade, investment, and business development in Zambia’s key sectors of the economy such as manufacturing, including critical minerals beneficiation and agri-processing; energy; infrastructure development; tourism; water supply; and information and technology.

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) is a government institution aimed at promoting and facilitating sustainable economic development in Zambia. It focuses on attracting both domestic and foreign investment, fostering trade, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The ZDA provides a range of services, including:

  1. Investment Promotion: Encouraging investment through incentives, information dissemination, and support for investors.
  2. Trade Facilitation: Assisting Zambian businesses in accessing international markets and promoting exports.
  3. Business Support Services: Offering guidance and resources for SMEs, including access to finance, capacity building, and mentorship.
  4. Policy Advocacy: Engaging with stakeholders to improve the business environment and influence economic policy.
  5. Economic Research and Data: Conducting research to inform policy decisions and investment strategies.

Overall, the ZDA plays a crucial role in driving Zambia’s economic growth and enhancing its competitiveness on the global stage.
